| Fergie Denies Plastic Surgery Claims, Criticizes Magazine
Fergie has slammed an American magazine for suggesting she has undergone cosmetic surgery on her nose and eyebrows. Two pictures of The Black Eyes Peas star - one from the 1980s, and one from 2007 - are printed side-by-side in the current issue of Us Weekly, and a surgeon tells the publication it's likely Fergie has had a rhinoplasty procedure. But the 32-year-old has denied the claims, and admits such speculation upsets her so much she has seen a therapist. Fergie says, "One of those (celebrity) magazines says I've had a nose job and an eyebrow lift, which is completely untrue. Personally, I see a therapist. It's hard, it hurts my feelings. I call my hypnotherapist and cry and let it go. That's what I do (to cope). I think that they nitpick these days so much and it's just got to the point where it's ridiculous." And Fergie isn't the only celebrity angry with this week's issue of Us Weekly - actress Scarlett Johansson is threatening the magazine with legal action over claims she had undergone plastic surgery on her nose.

The "High School Musical" actress underwent nose surgery last month. Performing at a holiday concert in N.Y.C. on Friday night, ASHLEY TISDALE stepped back into the spotlight for the first time since receiving elective nose surgery on Nov. 30, People reports. The "High School Musical" star, 22, tells the mag that she underwent rhinoplasty to alleviate breathing difficulties brought on by her twice-fractured nose -- damaged once in a car accident and again by getting hit in the face while dancing. "I don't believe in plastic surgery," Ashley tells People. "I really think natural is more beautiful. This was not about changing me. I am comfortable with myself." The "Musical" star's breathing woes were once so dire, Ashley tells the mag, that she required an oxygen tank to catch her breath after performing a solo set on a tour of South America last spring.

A group of former patients at Charity Hospital in New Orleans on Thursday filed a lawsuit in a Louisiana state court that seeks to require the hospital to return to the level of health care services provided before Hurricane Katrina, the New York Times reports.
Before the hurricane, Charity Hospital provided almost all basic, specialty, emergency and mental health care services to lower-income New Orleans residents. However, after the hurricane flooded the basement of Charity Hospital, Louisiana State University, which operates the hospital, decided not to reopen the facility (Eaton, New York Times, 1/18).
The lawsuit argues that Louisiana law required LSU to obtain approval from the state Legislature to close Charity Hospital two months after the hurricane. According to the lawsuit, LSU also refused a request by state lawmakers to have independent inspectors determine whether Charity Hospital could reopen after the hurricane.
