| Ashley Tisdale's New Nose No Longer On Show
Pop singer Ashley Tisdale has issued a public apology for canceling two concerts over the weekend because she's yet to "fully recover" from a recent rhinoplasty. The High School Musical star debuted her new nose at a gig in New York on Friday night, just two weeks after going under the knife to fix her severely deviated septum. But she then pulled out of two subsequent shows - one in Miami, Florida, and one in Philadelphia - fueling fears for her health following the procedure. Now the 22-year-old has confirmed the reason for her no-shows - but reassured fans she's on the road to recovery. She writes on her website: "I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be at the holiday shows this weekend. I haven't fully recovered from my surgery and had to make the difficult decision to cancel the appearances.

Those who wish to preserve academic freedom, and I do, would do well to incorporate Neal's concept of responsibility and Eismeier's invocation of Shils. Both are necessary elements of the fix if you want ‘buy in' from a skeptical public. Hunter BrownHamilton College, ‘76 hb, at 10:40 am EDT on June 9, 2006 .
Icahn Angles for Biogen Board Seats
The activist investor, who seemingly intends to muscle the re-hanging of the company's for-sale sign, criticizes Biogen's strategy and failed search for a suitor last fall. In a press release Monday, Icahn said, "We are taking this action because we believe that Biogen's recent purported attempt to find a suitor was not conducted in a way to enhance the success of the endeavor. We believe that the process was flawed in a number of key respects and that the process was run to placate us and other large shareholders who we believe asked for Biogen to find a buyer." Icahn alleges in the statement that Biogen "refused to allow potential bidders to talk to" Elan (ELN - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr), the company's partner on Tysabri. Earlier this month, the Financial Times said that potential buyers were asked to sign a confidentiality and disclosure agreement that "allowed them to view the company's private data, but simultaneously forbade the parties from any direct negotiation with Elan or Genentech" (DNA - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr).

A source tells Britain's Now magazine, "She's really upset about it. The one thing she wants more than anything is a son for Tom. "She says they've been trying since the summer, but it just hasn't happened for them yet.
