| Ashley Tisdale's New Nose No Longer On Show
Pop singer Ashley Tisdale has issued a public apology for canceling two concerts over the weekend because she's yet to "fully recover" from a recent rhinoplasty. The High School Musical star debuted her new nose at a gig in New York on Friday night, just two weeks after going under the knife to fix her severely deviated septum. But she then pulled out of two subsequent shows - one in Miami, Florida, and one in Philadelphia - fueling fears for her health following the procedure. Now the 22-year-old has confirmed the reason for her no-shows - but reassured fans she's on the road to recovery. She writes on her website: "I'm so sorry I wasn't able to be at the holiday shows this weekend. I haven't fully recovered from my surgery and had to make the difficult decision to cancel the appearances.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Janet & Mariah: The Scoop! Juelz's Cut Weeds! Eddie ...
Dunno if you've seen the reports of Bishop Lamont saying that he believes Joell Got dropped, but what I have heard is that's a misunderstanding. Sure, there are people that get dropped from Aftermath. But Joell Ortiiz isn't one of them. From what I heard, he was really a bit tired of waiting and getting acclaim, but seeing no forward movement. Joell formally requested a release from Aftermath. I heard Dr. Dre really didn't want want to let him go, because he likes Joell. From what I hear, they both had a man-to-man conversation and they agreed to go their separate ways. I think it was a case where Interscope wants Detox and Em's next CD before anything and anybody. That means another year MINIMUM for anybody else barring a 50 Cent-type rapper. Joell didn't want to wait, I am hearing.
Exercise Keeps You Younger, Study Finds
We are making a logical next step to say people who have shorter telomeres are more prone to age-related diseases," he said. "We think it is because these cells are auto-destructing and the ageing process is speeded up." Studying twins also provided a unique opportunity to gauge the effects of exercise on people with the same or similar genetic make-up and backgrounds, the researchers said. .
Potential To Restore Range Of Motion, Accelerate Healing Using Freeze ...
Donated, freeze-dried tendon grafts loaded with gene therapy may soon offer effective repair of injured tendons, a goal that has eluded surgeons to date. According to study data published in the journal Molecular Therapy, a new graft technique may provide the first effective framework around which flexor tendon tissue can reorganize as it heals. Such tissue-engineering approaches could significantly improve repair of anterior cruciate ligaments and rotator cuffs as well, researchers said. The study was in a mouse model designed to resemble hard-to-repair flexor tendons in human hands, and the results should provide an impetus for future clinical trials. Tendons are elastic cords that anchor muscle to bone and enable flexing muscle to move limbs. Related injuries represent nearly half of 33 million U.S.
Big Table Fantasies
Paul S.: I like it! What would be really cool is if, in states like Iowa, folks in the caucus that are for Kucinish would throw their second ballots to Edwards. That could tip the scales. I wish more states had caucuses. It's more like IRV voting than anything else we have. Further, I would like ALL the candidates to understand that the American people DO NOT need universal health insurance. What we need and want is universal access to medical care. As in single payor. We don't want the government doling out healthcare. We just want them to PAY for it equally for every man, woman, and child in the whole country. This is not socialized medicine. This is socialized insurance! I hope everyone understands the difference. .
Quickies: Simon Says, 'I've Had Botox'
Turns out Simon Cowell is as brutally honest in real life as he is when he's crushing the dreams and stomping the fragile psyches of thousands of tone-deaf "American Idol" hopefuls. In a sit-down with the London Daily Mail, he breezily addresses the various rumors surrounding his meticulous if much-mocked personal style. Is he a narcissist? "Vain? Yeah, I am," the moneybags "AI" judge concedes. "But to be honest with you, I can't think of one person who is on TV who isn't vain. It's the nature of the beast. If you are on TV then you have a vanity, for sure. Just admit it! Why not?" Did he get a little surgical enhancement on the moobs he so proudly shows off through his trademark airtight T-shirts? "No, absolutely not," says Simon of the pectoral implant prattle. "I have not had cosmetic surgery." How about getting injections of face-freezing toxin? "Yes, I've had Botox," he reveals, "but not in an obsessive way.
Obama to appear in Minnesota Saturday
In a move that draws fresh attention to the growing importance of Minnesota in the presidential contest, Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama will appear here on Saturday, just days before the crush of primary and caucus contests that will occur on Super Tuesday "Minnesota, for the first time in our memory, is going to matter and matter big time in presidential politics," said Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak on Monday, announcing the Obama appearance and unveiling two television ads that begin airing statewide today. Rybak is the chairman of Obama for Minnesota. Democratic contender John Edwards will be in the state on Tuesday. The Hillary Clinton campaign did not immediately return a phone call on possible appearances by either Hillary or Bill Clinton. No details were available on where and when on Saturday Obama would be in Minnesota, but Rybak said the appearance would be geared toward turning out caucus-goers for Feb.
