Probably every woman in here has the experience of getting blood in her underpants during the menses," Cavness said. "I find that cold water works extremely well for getting bloodstains out of stained garments."

Hora asked, "And if you use copious amounts of water, lots and lots of water, would that be better?"

"Usually, I would soak my garment in a bucket or in the laundry," Cavness said.

Hora continued, "I guess what I'm asking is, is it your opinion that water all by itself could be sufficient to wash out a blood stain?"

Cavness replied, "Yes, given that it's a blood stain. I guess it wouldn't matter how old it was. It would wash it away, yes." She added that blood cells lyse, or break apart, with the addition of water, as opposed to sperm cells.

Sinus surgery clears up fatigue, too, study shows

I suffer from nasal polyps and am constantly stuffy. As described above, when I get a cold, it quickly turn severe. I had the surgery 10 years ago and have been told that if the polyps grew back, I'd have to have the surgery periodically. I'd like to avoid surgeryif possible. I take nasal steroids on a daily basis which, for the most part, allow me to breathe through my nose somewhat. I've been told that the surgery is not necessary but a quality of life issue. I'm trying to hold off if possible. I've twice had the pin prick test for allergies with no allergies found. The blood test called the Immunocap sounds promising.

Katie Couric's photo doctored to make her thinner

No, Katie Couric didn't suddenly lose 20 pounds.

The incoming "CBS Evening News" anchor appears significantly thinner in a network promotional magazine photo thanks to digital airbrushing.

The touched-up photo of Couric dressed in a striped business suit appears on the inside of the September issue of Watch! which is distributed at CBS stations and on American Airlines flights.

Fergie Denies Plastic Surgery Claims, Criticizes Magazine

Fergie has slammed an American magazine for suggesting she has undergone cosmetic surgery on her nose and eyebrows. Two pictures of The Black Eyes Peas star - one from the 1980s, and one from 2007 - are printed side-by-side in the current issue of Us Weekly, and a surgeon tells the publication it's likely Fergie has had a rhinoplasty procedure.

But the 32-year-old has denied the claims, and admits such speculation upsets her so much she has seen a therapist.

Fergie says, "One of those (celebrity) magazines says I've had a nose job and an eyebrow lift, which is completely untrue. Personally, I see a therapist. It's hard, it hurts my feelings. I call my hypnotherapist and cry and let it go. That's what I do (to cope). I think that they nitpick these days so much and it's just got to the point where it's ridiculous."

And Fergie isn't the only celebrity angry with this week's issue of Us Weekly - actress Scarlett Johansson is threatening the magazine with legal action over claims she had undergone plastic surgery on her nose.

Readers bare souls over pumped-up pecs

"In the landscape of the body, the chest is prime territory," pronounced a bodybuilder cum health writer. And what better way for the lesser endowed to pump up that territory than with pectoral implants? That was the subject of last week's lead Style story, which drew considerable reader excitement - in some cases especially to the pictures of one man's warriorlike "chest of gold." But for many, as Shakespeare put it, "all that glisters is not gold." Besides, they said, there are other ways of getting the kind of pecs people would pay money to lay their head on. Still ...

I'm going to get blasted for this, but on some level I'm glad that men are starting to feel the pressure to achieve some unrealistic ideal.

South Africa to win (181)

Now we have our own drop goal specialist and England get labelled "boring". How hypocritical is that? Also, SH fans make posts supporting their team and its ok but if anyone in England says anything the least supportive of our own team, then we're being "Arrogant". I'm just so fed up of this SH bullsh1t. If SA win, then we shouldn't slag our team off like the Aussies do, or complain endlessly about the ref like the Kiwis have but shrug our shoulders like the French have and just live with it. I really hope England win on Saturday but even if they don't, they have already played superbly and deserve our thanks for a wonderful world cup. Come on England!!
